AIR BAIL® | Reel Bail

DAIWA's innovative bail design featuring a hollow tubular stainless steel bail for maximium rigidity and strength with minimum weight. Due to the smooth, protrusion-free design of the Air Bail, even loose line common after a cast slides easily down the bail onto the line roller as the reel is turned, without snagging or hanging up.

The latest highlight is the seamless Air Bail, which was previously only used on some LT reels. The seamless design optimises the run of the line into the line roller, while at the same time being more compact and lighter.

AIR ROTOR® | Rotor Type

Especially for our reels with MagSealed oil barrier mechanism we have developed the Air Rotor.

So the enormous strains, which affect the rotor via the line and the line roller are better distributed. This causes less pressure on the single parts of the rotor.

The rotor is 15% more light weighted than usual rotors of the same material - this reduces vibrations and enhances the rotational balance thanks to a very low centre of gravity.

Under the same strain, a conventional rotor is much more distorted than a Air Rotor, since here the strain is scattered over the whole rotor and not not concentrated to one point.

ATD® | Drag System

ATD (Automatic Tournament Drag) stands for the further development of the UTD drag.

The ATD drag is excelled by an even more delicate drag transition and as a consequence thereof is perfectly suited for the use of braided lines.

Contrasting to the UTD drag, at the ATD already at the beginning of a strike the drag starts smoothly, then increases to its pre-set drag rating in a fraction of a second, thus eliminating line breakage at the strike.

CRBB® | Ball Bearings

CRBB is short for Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings and means salt-water-proof, stainless ball bearings.

CRBB ball bearings feature an 12 times higher corrosion resistance than usual ball bearings.

CrossWrap® | Line Winding

Wraps the line precisely on the spool and reduces the threat of backlashes at the cast. The casting distance is markedly increased.

DIGIGEAR® | Gear

Machined, digitally developed gearing for maximum performance and endurance. Embeded in our lightweight reel body, it transmits smoothly and efficiently the power of the handle directly to the rotor. Like this you can concentrate on fishing completely.

Our DAIWA engineers completely perfected the technology of milled gears with the Digigear II and newest with the Tough Digigear (TDG). The shape and surface of the gear teeth enable the construction of gears with extraordinary smooth running, smallest resistance and extremely long lifespan.

INFINITE® ANTI-REVERSE

A weak part of many reels – the most reliable part of a DAIWA reel. Only high-quality parts made of steel with smallest tolerances are used.

By the special position and bearing of the oscillation-gear wheels, we improved the smoothness of the gear in comparison to usual systems of similar construction.

TWISTBUSTER® II | Line Roller

DAIWA´s original advanced technology designed to reduce line twist during retrieving. An essential reason for line twist has been eliminated with this smart idea.

The newest Twist Buster II line roller not only minimises line twist, but also reduces further friction between the line and the roller.

ZAION® | Body & Rotor

Zaion is an excellent material developed by DAIWA to built reel bodies and rotors. The big advantage of this material is its lightness and solidity. Zaion is a kind of "High Density" carbon strain material, which is made for highest performance and to resist maximum impact.

Due to Zaion, it is possible to construct lightweight reel bodies and rotors (Zaion AiR Rotor) that durably support the gearing. The strength of Zaion corresponds to magnesium and is 20% stronger than Nylon/ABS material, usually used for reel bodies. Zaion is about 50% lighter than Aluminium.
